Tonight It’s Poetry: Issue #7, and other news

I’m the featured poet this Sunday at the 7th “Tonight it’s Poetry” reading.

June 1, 2008 – 8pm
Flint Bar – 259 2nd Ave South, Saskatoon

The June 1st line-up also includes readings from emerging poets Waylon Machiskinic, Kirby Criddle, Kara Twa, Stephen Rutherford, and Mitch Spray.

Also, please look for an article on “Tonight it’s Poetry” in the next issue of Planet S!

Other upcoming news and events from me:

June 18 – Ed and I will be launching our chapbook Husk with JackPine Press. Info & images to follow! But you can check JackPine’s website in the meantime.

June 19-22 – I will be at the conference “The Oral, The Written, and Other Verbal Media” at the University of Saskatchewan. I’m giving a paper titled “The Embodied Voice” which is an edited version of a section of my MA dissertation focusing on the use of the voice in interdisciplinary “total theatre” performances and includes some of my experiences with Roy Hart Voice Work.

August – I’ve been accepted to attending the Advanced International Voice Workshop with Richard Armstrong at the Banff Centre. I haven’t worked with Richard since 2002 so am VERY excited about working with him again!

Between all this I’m working on a multi-disciplinary video piece. I may or may not blog about the process as working on the actual piece is more important than blogging about it!
