On Thursday, 22 May 2014, I will be performing my new interdisciplinary piece ossa . ora at the Cathedral Village Arts Festival’s GET LIT CABARET in Regina.
ossa . ora is an imagistic interdisciplinary piece that begins with finding a child’s baby teeth in a jar and goes on to explore through object collage, haiku, text animations, and song what perceptions are evoked by this discovery.
Thursday, May 22nd 7:00pm
Artesian On 13th – 2627 13th Ave
Created for the Festival: four terrific writers perform with music, photographs, film, dance and song. And later, the Poetic Exposure: tribal style belly dance blended with erotic readings (may not be suitable for younger audiences).
7:00-7:30 Kate Braid with Danny Jones (bassist)
7:30-8:00 Kathleen Wall with Veronica Geminder (photos) (includes break)
8:00-8:45 Lia Pas, ossa . ora, poetry performance with photos, text animations, and song
9:00-9:30 Shayna Stock, In Situ, poetry performance, dance with film
9:30-10:30 Poetic Exposure: Tribal Style belly dance with Linda Yablonski, with short erotic readings from the Get Lit Writers.
Also, while you’re in Regina, I also have some music in a video installation as part of Amalie Atkins’ solo show we live on the edge of disaster and imagine we are in a musical at the MacKenzie Art Gallery in Regina. More info here. The installation I’m in involves sewing machines turned into film projectors and women in black dancing on ice.
