60×60 Midwest Minutes Performances

My acousmatic piece between has been chosen as part of the 2007 60×60 Midwest Minutes. There are two performances next week. If you’re anywhere nearby, please have a listen!

Next week the 60×60 (2007 / Midwest Mix) is being premiered in two locations. The first performance will be at the Kentucky New Music Festival. At the second performance Rob Voisey will be presenting at EMM Electronic Music Midwest festival in conjunction with collaboration with the video artist Zlatko Cosic.

60 electronic compositions each lasting 60 seconds written by 60 different composers played back to back for one 60 minute concert. The performance includes digitally displayed windows media player visualization, composer and program notes, and synchronized clock. It opens with a lecture by Dr. Jeremy Beck – Sampling and Copyright: Does “Thou Shalt Not Steal” Infringe on Creativity?

Kansas City Kansas Community College, Lewis University and the Conservatory of Music and Dance-University of Missouri at Kansas City are pleased to announce a call for scores for the Electronic Music Midwest Festival, to be held October 11-13, 2007 at Kansas City Kansas Community College.

Rob Voisey’s work Constellations will also be performed at the EMM festival that Saturday.
