With the increased demand of yoga clothing due to a tremendous hiking up of the interest of yoga among the people, the markets of sporting goods have come up with an exclusive range of yoga clothing to meet the requirements of every individual.

Wow, that was a great post! Finally I see someone else mentioning the no-shoulders thing! But I had no idea about the armpits. I have to ask about that. Can I put a link to this post on my blog?

Yes, it's just one of those many double standards that are inherent here. Though in a lot of those comics and magazines, the "important bits" are fuzzed out. Still, I've heard that the comics especially, are quite violent, which I'm sure increases the misogyny here.

25 more days and counting....

But - in good news - they turned the air conditioners on at work today!! Perhaps I won't be a melted puddle of Lia when I get home and will have the energy to do some yoga!

I figured there had to be a good reason ;-) Again, I find the two extremes in Japan really interesting - no underarms or "unpadded nipples" in public but yet they have some of the most extreme pornographic comic books in the world.

Ok - the padded bra with underwire:

I HATE padded bras, and I hate underwire even more. However, after being here a year most of my bras were worn out and I needed some new ones. I also noticed my chest getting stared at a lot when it was chilly out. Perkiness in the chest area (if you know what I mean) is a big no no here. So much of a no no that they sell "nipple tape" at the drugstore.

ALL the bras here are padded, some extremely so. I tried buying a bra here and managed to find one that fit. (Yes. one.) But it squoosed everything together in such a way that I was all flattened out and the points were about 2 inches closer to each other than usual. NOT comfortable.

So, on the advice of some other foreign women here, I did an overseas order from Victoria's Secret. Not the sort of place I would usually purchase my bras, but I was desperate! They have very few options for unpadded un -underwired bras, and I figured it was getting cold, so I better order some with extra coverage.

I've already made a date with a friend to go bra shopping with a friend my first week back in Saskatoon. The padded, underwired bras are going in the garbage.

So, no, they're not something I HAVE to wear, but they make things a little less uncomfortable for the boys and male teachers at the school. I mean, my chest is already at most of their eye-levels, I don't need to encourage them any more than they are already!

Friday was sweltering here. 45 C with the humidex. Yes, you read that right... 45 C!!! That's 113 F.

Thankfully, I can wear whatever I want. I can even go topless, should I choose. And I do have air conditioning but the smog has been so bad that I can barely breathe. I went out for a walk in the evening but my lungs felt like lead weights. Bleh.

Just one question regarding your wardrobe...

I wear a padded bra with underwire

Is this another unwanted part of the Japanese School Teacher uniform that you just HAVE to wear?
