About Lia PasLia Pas is a multi-disciplinary theatre artist, writer and yoga teacher currently living in Saskatoon. She has a B.F.A. Hon. Mus. from York University (Toronto) where she studied Karnatak (South Indian) singing with Trichy Sankaran, Improvisation with Casey Sokol, Composition with James Tenney, and Iroquois Women's Songs with Sadie Buck. She has continued her professional development in voice with Richard Armstrong of the Roy Hart Theatre working with the voice in both a sung and a theatrical capacity, and recently travelled to New York City for intensive one-on-one work with him. Her multi-disciplinary theatre pieces "The Descent of Inanna" (with Paulette Bibeau - 2001) and "Baba Yaga's Hut" (2002) have played to sold-out audiences in Saskatoon. Lia has also taught voice in her "soundbody" workshops with Paulette Bibeau, coaching her casts with Lapis Productions, and at the Summer Native Theatre School. Lia recently travelled to New York City for intensive one-on-one work with Richard Armstrong. |
